Mon travail fusionne photographie, peinture et poésie. La photographie étant ma base première que je transfère ensuite sur bois, matière vibrante qui me permet de poncer, ciseler, voire « abîmer » l’image pour ensuite la réinventer à travers des glacis, des encres, de la peinture, du pastel, de la feuille d’or, etc. selon mon inspiration. Les incidents de transfert sont alors « sublimés » pour donner vie à une œuvre unique, telle notre propre existence. Je tente de retranscrire ma perception et mes ressentis au moment de la prise de vue, en laissant le hasard jouer son rôle dans le processus créatif. La photographie devient alors matière et émotion.
My work combines photography, painting and poetry. Photography is my starting point, which I then transfer onto wood, a vibrant material that allows me to sand, carve and even “damage” the image, before reinventing it using glazes, inks, paint, pastels, gold leaf, etc., depending on my inspiration. The incidents of transfer are then “sublimated” to give life to a unique artwork, just like our own existence. I try to transcribe my perception and feelings at the moment of shooting, letting chance play its part in the creative process. Photography then becomes material and emotion.
